 2020

Cannot let this year end without adding some positives! But first a review of 2017-to-now. An enjoyable project in January 2017 was creating 18 calendars showcasing my oil paintings. Recipients were delighted. February brought my entry being accepted into Lancaster Art Association Winter Show. March was a great visit to Philadelphia Museum of Art. April saw my painting accepted into Lebanon Valley Juried Exhibit. June brought our annual visit to The Schuler School of Fine Art in Baltimore for their faculty/ student exhibition. In July I escorted a group of 12 artists on an 8-day painting tour to County Clare, Ireland. Each day we began a new plein air subject, everything from castles, to waterfalls! In late July I participated in Lititz Outdoor Art Show, which was fine until 2pm thunderstorms arrived. September's York Fair held a special treat for me in Old Main Building: a display of "Realistic Art in the Circle of Paulette Flemmens." I assembled an exhibit of past & present students' paintings, a few of my works, and several oils by contemporaries who also use the Maroger medium & methods. Fairgoers were stopped in their tracks by the excellent artwork, while I was thrilled to coordinate such a great body of beautiful realistic art! During 9 of the 10 days of York Fair, I did painting demonstrations. On an extended break one day, I had my caricature drawn by a talented Allentown artist. At the end of September, 2 miniature paintings I submitted to Adams County Miniature Juried Show were accepted. Near the end of the year I painted a funny or terrible  (depending on your viewpoint) small oil of a mouse in a trap. (cont'd)
