Catch Up 2012-13

Where did 2013 go? I guess I was busy. Picking up where I left off: York Fair 2012 resulted in several new paintings: Velevety Iris II, Rural VA Homestead II and the beginning stages of Pond and Cow Path. On the 2nd Saturday of the fair, I attended the Hiestand School's 100th Anniversary,  hosted by Emmanuel Christian Fellowship, the historic building's current occupant. While there I began a portrait of the building. In October,  attended Shrewsbury Fall Fest on threatening day, so I took my most compact display ever: One table, one chair, one umbrella, several small paintings, some notecards. It was worthwhile but when it sprinkled at 2pm, I took it as my cue to depart. Later in October, I did a lovely event at PowderMill Commons in York. My indoor display was compact and it was a good show. Early November was brushstrokes & Bass Notes, where a display of students & my works was complemented by musical renditions. It was an enjoyable afternoon of food, fine art & music. At the November meeting of hershey Area Art Association I met Andy Smith, the judge who awarded my Rural VA Homestead a 1st prize at the September Member's Show. At Glenview Church 's Christmastime in Loganville, I produced an 8x10 still-life with Red Apples, while chatting with showgoers & manning my booth.
